The development of electrode materials for lithium ion batteries providing high energy density and high power is a major challenge in the field of electrochemical energy storage. Nanostructuring has a profound effect on the material’s properties and is considered one of the key routes towards the improvement of their efficiency. The performance of already known materials can be strongly enhanced by decreasing the crystal size to only a few nanometers and by judiciously designing their morphology. In my work, I manly focus on the nanostructuring of cathode materials.
